Does every business sell?

We believe that every business in every industry has got the potential to be sellable, as long as it posses one of below points of attraction:

How long will it take to sell my business?

The time a business will take to sell depends on a variety of factors including:

  • The industry in which it operates – whether it is in a niche market or in a popular/common industry.
  • The current state of the economy
  • How readily available your supporting documentation is. (i.e. financials, lease, sales data, contracts etc.)
  • The premises lease (if applicable) – the agreement including rent and conditions currently in place with your landlord will transfer to the purchaser, so it forms an important part of the business sale transaction.

At Expert Business, we aim to have an offer accepted within the first 3 months of listing the business for sale. We are then with you every step of the way through the settlement and handover process which is usually an additional 8-12 weeks depending on above-aforementioned factors.

What are the steps a buyer must go through to purchase my business?

  • Complete a non-disclosure / confidentiality agreement & screening process.
  • Reviewing the business profile document prepared by Expert Business.
  • Review financial and supporting documents. 
  • Site-inspection or meeting arranged with the vendor and selling agent.
  • Consultation with professional advisors prior to submitting an offer.
  • Reviewing and executing a Contract of Sale 
  • Preparing the documentation for the landlord and franchisor approval (if applicable)
  • Settlement and handover -Plant & Equipment check, training, transfer of assets and IP, arranging finance (if applicable) and arranging the handover date.

With over 10 years experience in business management and ownership, he has been the Senior Manager, Founder and/or Shareholder in many different businesses and companies, ranging from small family operated concerns to larger corporate entities. Daniel has completed a Bachelor of Business with a major in marketing degree and Finance Diploma with graduate certificates in Corporate finance, Financial risk management, and Business / Investment analysis.

Daniel is constantly looking to identify Joint Ventures and opportunities to better the direction of the company. Having started her career in TV and Film, Nikki worked as a production co-ordinator for the major networks (Ch 7, 9, 10) and has worked on various major productions including a long-standing role with The Project. Nikki brings exceptional organisational and people management skills along with expert knowledge in media and production.

Nikki transitioned across to the Education sector where she worked as an early childcare educator and Supervisor within a childcare centre.

More recently, Nikki has worked in an administration and co-ordinator role for her own pet-care company in Melbourne, providing support across all aspects of a business such as recruitment, customer service, marketing and administration.
